8/16/2023 0 Comments Well color me shocked![]() While I know that some of the delay on standards that would save lives and prevent some of the most explosive tragedies experienced in U.S. I’m glad somebody else is mad as hell for a change. He’s not just grumbling in private, or in an interview with me he’s publicly calling OSHA to task on its lack of action – much like OSHA publicly shames via press releases the companies that have been cited and fined by the agency. Recently, however, Moure-Eraso appears to be taking a page out of OSHA’s book on public shaming. Earlier statements made by Moure-Eraso regarding CSB investigations praised the companies, states and organizations that adopted CSB’s recommendations, with no mention of the recommendations that were ignored by OSHA. Rafael Moure-Eraso has been very outspoken in interviews and in public statements about his frustration with OSHA’s (lack of) response to recommendations made by CSB following its investigations of chemical-related disasters. I can’t speak for him in this case, but CSB Chairperson Dr. OSHA, however, appears immune to CSB’s calls for action on combustible dust, fuel gas and process safety management. These recommendations frequently are adopted by the targeted organizations. And then for the board to actually do it during a public meeting in Washington this month well, color me surprised.ĬSB often makes recommendations to the companies, to the states where the companies operate, to industry organizations or organizations such as the National Fire Protection Association, to municipal governments and to OSHA. Chemical Safety Board were becoming frustrated with OSHA’s less-than-motivated efforts toward creating a combustible dust standard, I was shocked when the CSB said it was considering slapping OSHA with an “unacceptable” rating for its response to CSB recommendations on that and other workplace safety and health concerns. So while I knew the members and especially the chair of the U.S. Those guys and gals tend to stick together, probably because everyone else in the country is quick to criticize. In the next installment of "As My World Rotates", the experience of breaking the news to coworkers, which was delightfully evil and fun.It takes a lot for a federal agency to criticize another federal agency. Finally, we are almost at the beginning of our life together and everything seems to be coming together. The Sister missionaries frakkin love the guy and are happy for our family. The bishop and the RS president both talked it out with me, and they feel good about where I'm going. This was really the last thing I expected to be honest. Now, she said, she feels a calm glow around me and the kids, and she can tell Picklejar is a good guy.She claims that she is honestly happy for all of us and wishes us the best. My sister-in-law mentioned that a couple of years ago, at a family campout, all she could feel was a dark cloud around me. And then she said something that really hit home. ![]() I pulled my sister-in-law aside and filled her in and she even said they'd come to the wedding. Other than that, it all went beautifully, but, ya know, that was a pretty big thing.Īnyhow, later the former's left but my former brother and sister-in-law and the cousins were still there. As soon as he said his name she replied, "Oh yes, Thing 1 has mentioned you before". Somehow, in that short time, my former mother-in-law searched out Picklejar and introduced herself. I swear, I only stepped out of the room for, like, 5 minutes. My ex hasn't as yet discussed my impending nuptials with his family, so we pretty much just tried to avoid that side of the room so that we wouldn't ruin my son's big day. It's pretty messed up when my crazy parents and the Sister missionaries are Picklejar's comfort zone. Oh yeah, let's just get my formers in the same room as my future and all just spend a few hours hanging out together. The reeeeeeeally awkward part came from Thing 2 wanting my future dh (I shall hereafter call him Picklejar) to be at his special day too. It was really, truly awesome to have them both be a part of his day. My dad baptized him, which was kind of a big deal since my dad wasn't a member when I was baptized, and my ex's father confirmed him. ![]() His dad couldn't be there but he decided to have both grandfathers be a part of his special day. ![]() You could feel the spirit and belief in the room when he made the choice to be baptized. But now, especially since he decided he's thrilled to have a stepdad in his future, he's returned to my happy, calm, exceptionally aware kid. I'm not kidding, he once tried to run out in traffic. Hard to believe that a year ago I had a kid who felt like he wanted to die because his world was falling apart. My middle kid (Thing 2) got baptized this last weekend. ![]()
